May 10, 2005, North Brunswick, NJ -- Provid Pharmaceuticals announces move to expanded laboratories in North Brunswick, NJ

Provid Pharmaceuticals Inc. has relocated to a new facility in North Brunswick, NJ on the campus of the Technology Center of New Jersey, a project developed by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) on US Route 1 near the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick.  The laboratory was designed by CUH2A Architects and built by Torcon, Inc. as part of the expansion of the Rutgers Technology Center.  The NJEDA partnered with the Rutgers University Division of Research and Sponsored Programs  to build the facility.  The location is within a newly designated New Jersey Innovation Zone and adjacent to the NJEDA Commercialization Center.

Provid’s CEO, Dr. Gary Olson, commented, "the expanded laboratories and close relationship with the NJEDA and Rutgers are important to Provid’s future growth and ability to form collaborations and strategic alliances with the biotech industry in New Jersey, and elsewhere."  Provid’s relationship with New Jersey and the NJEDA is a strong one, with Provid being the recipient of an NJEDA Springboard Fund II award to pursue research in autoimmune diseases, and of a postdoctoral fellowship program via the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology.

Provid is a chemistry-based drug discovery company with expertise in all aspects of  medicinal chemistry, structure-based drug design, lead optimization, protein biochemistry and assay development. The company offers collaborative discovery services to biotech companies and academic groups that need medicinal chemistry expertise to transform their biologically driven research into drug molecules.  In addition, Provid pursues internal programs for the discovery of novel therapeutics for autoimmune diseases based on a platform technology in the field of peptide mimetics.
